Moose Plumbing and Heating started in 2023 with a vision

ABOUT US

Each of us had come together with years of experience working at various properties – Yaakov as a plumber and gas expert, Daniel with a background in renovation, as a realtor and property manager. We realized a joint passion for doing high-quality work and seeing customers happy. We pride ourselves on surpassing customer expectations, with a transparent and communicative approach.

With our combined backgrounds and expertise, we knew that we could work stronger as a team, and really rely on our range of expertise to help out in many different situations.

THAT’S why we started Moose. You’re hiring us because we take the time to figure out why something isn’t working. You can hire us because we get the job done, but you’ll want to hire us because we get the job done right.

Oh, and why is it called Moose you ask? Both of us met in the community and came to realize how much of our backgrounds we had in common and how well we would fit working together. When we were looking for a name, we wanted something strong that echoed Canadian patriotism. The moose is a proud and noble animal – something we definitely aspire to!

Yaakov

Daniel

Yaakov is incredibly proud to be a second-generation plumber. Growing up in New York City, he watched his father spend his career as a plumber in and around New York City. At a young age, Yaakov would often accompany his father to various side jobs, such as opening and winterizing summer camps and assisting with plumbing and boiler service around the city.

Initially, Yaakov did not intend to follow in his father’s footsteps. His initial career path was in special education, but deep down Yaakov knew he needed to work with his hands. Apprenticing with experienced Plumbers in private and union companies taught him the true tricks of the trade, and he worked in New York for over a decade before moving to Canada and obtaining his Master Plumbing license and Gas certification.

Yaakov’s real specialty is in problem-solving. He’s most keen on understanding systems so that he can learn where something is not working properly, and how to rectify the issue to bring everything into alignment. While he has significant expertise in plumbing, he possesses additional certifications in hot water systems and gas and is as skilled at large-scale custom plumbing and heating projects as he is at simple repairs.

When he’s not under your sink, Yaakov can usually be found enjoying nature with his beautiful wife (we have her to thank for his move to Toronto), and their children.

Daniel actually came to plumbing as a second career. With a university background in business, his previous experience in real estate and property management. Daniel's background gives him insight into the ins and outs of most properties. He even holds a diploma in Building Renovation Technician.

However, as a realtor, he was always frustrated by seeing owners who were often forced to live with problems in their homes that seemingly no one else could solve. It always baffled him when homeowners would simply shrug their shoulders because others had tried and failed to fix a longstanding problem to the point where they assumed that an answer was impossible. When it comes to working at a high standard, Daniel refuses to take ‘no’ for an answer.

The one common theme throughout all of Daniel’s career paths is his commitment to client service. Daniel has spent over two decades in various client-facing roles, and his loyalty and dedication to solving any issues or concerns are unwavering.

Much like Yaakov, Daniel too enjoys problem-solving and is always happy to tackle a complex project involving custom plumbing and intricate solutions. However, when you need a quick fix for a clogged toilet or a stopped sink, he’s more than happy to roll up his sleeves and solve whatever immediate problem is at hand.

When he’s not working, Daniel enjoys the outdoors, community work, fitness and spending time with his family.
